Who we are

HBC Environmental Solutions is working to solve one society’s biggest and pervasive problems: waste. 

Our team has invented a reactor that can take almost any piece of organic waste - most items found in household or municipal garbage chains - and convert it into a cheap, clean OCS-Char (Carbonisation pellets) through a process called hydrothermal carbonisation or Organic Carbonisation System (OCS). 

The OCS is a revolutionary technology that will change how municipal, commercial and medical waste is processed. We call the technological application “carbonisation”. 

Carbonisation, through HBC’s Accelerated Carbonisation Technology (ACT), is an environmentally-friendly waste disposal method and a clean alternative to conventional, widespread landfill waste management (ie. burying garbage) and large scale waste incineration (ie. burning garbage).

The OCS system has been developed by a team of civil and mechanical engineers in Sydney, with consultants from Sydney University, Monash University Melbourne, Murdoch University Perth, and the Institution of Geomechanics Germany.
